Creare ad Imitationem Dei
“Create in Imitation of God”

Imitandum Games is a small independent game studio in Colorado started by a real satellite engineer. I (Jacob, the founder) have worked on various satellites and spacecraft you may know: GPS, Artemis/Orion, GOES-R, Mars Sample Return Mission, and SDA Tranche 1 & 3 to name a few. I came up with Imitandum Games Ltd. because every game is really just an imitation of reality, and Latin is always good for a company name.

It started at a status meeting.
Our story

It started at a status meeting.

My first game, C.O.L.A. – The Game of Satellite Survival, was inspired by a morning status meeting for a real constellation that I had to perform COLA maneuver enabling analysis for. The core idea was a quick to learn, quick to play game about satellite maneuvers that would be fun to play over and over again with coworkers and family alike! I started doing analysis on how to make it happen and before long I had 3D printed prototypes I was playtesting with family, friends, and coworkers. As soon as people played it they wanted their own and I knew it was worth making for everyone!

For Space Professionals and Anyone Else

While our games have a specific bent towards myself and my friends in the space industry, I want them to be enjoyable for anyone that wants a good time with friends or family.

Independent

Just an engineer, his ideas, a side garage warehouse and this site. I pack and ship every order you place.

Growing

With the excitement and success from C.O.L.A. – The Game of Satellite Survival, there has to be more to come. I'm already working on new projects and expansions. COLA is just the start.
